Disaster relief efforts
Disasters such as earthquakes and typhoons suddenly take away people's lives. At the Gojo Paper Group, we believe in supporting recovery from such disasters as a business.
On March 11th, 2011, the Great East Japan Earthquake brought immense damage to Tohoku and all areas around it. After the earthquake, along with soliciting donations from employees, donations were sent from each member company of the Gojo Paper Group via the Japan Red Cross. Similarly, donations were collected from Gojo’s Shanghai office and employees and delivered via the Shanghai Red Cross.
Contributions to the international community
The globalization of modern society is taking place increasingly fast and aggressive. Even through corporate activities, relationships and effects on a global scale can not be avoided in every aspect. Contribution to the international community is something that cannot be ignored in globalization that is to take place from now on.
The May 12th, 2008 Sichuan earthquake brought great damage to all areas of China. After the earthquake, our company considered making donations. At the same time, donations were being collected from employees. Donations from the Gojo Paper Group companies and employees were delivered to Shanghai Municipal Government through Shanghai Gojo Specialty Paper Co., Ltd. We are extremely grateful for all of the warm support from neighboring countries.
Together with kids
Children play using paper, and it nurtures a rich sensibility in them. As a company involved in manufacturing paper, we believe this is a significant role. By offering our company’s products when we are requested by various children’s facilities, children’s education support groups, and educational organizations, we would like to think that we are doing what we can to contribute to society.
We donated Specialties No.317 to the Narashinodai Children’s Home in Funabashi, Chiba. It was used in the Children’s Festival. The dimensions of a whole sheet of this company’s Specialties paper are 79cm x 109cm. Several sheets were pasted together so that the children were able to make a quite large mirror. In addition, although it was a mirror, because it was still a paper, it was light and safe. On the convex curve of the mirror, the children’s reflected figures were super slim; On the concave curve of the mirror, the children’s reflected figures were fat! The children were overjoyed at the magical mirror.

Specialties No.750 was donated to the students of the design department of the School of Fine Arts at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. It was used to produce graduation projects. Even among our holographic film papers, our leading SP No.750 is said to be “a paper with strong personality”, but the students pulled a refined sense out of its appeal. Wasn’t this young talent able to express her sensibility in the form of a thought?
To be able to live at ease in Japan
In the event of traffic accidents, acute illnesses, injuries and the like, the fastest way to get a patient to a medical facility is by an emergency medical treatment helicopter (doctor helicopter). The Emergency Medical Network of Helicopter and Hospital, headed by Koji Kunimatsu, is a licensed NPO that aims to spread the use of such medical helicopters. As a supporting member, our company is doing what we can to cooperate with them.
Nobody knows when emergency medical transport will be needed. The doctor helicopter emergency medical transport comes into action in emergencies like traffic accidents, disasters, and acute illnesses. HEM-NET (The Emergency Medical Network of Helicopter and Hospital) was established in December of 1999 and conducts survey research and public relations activities to increase the proliferation of emergency helicopters.
Our company supports these activities as well, and we have been cooperating as a supporting member since 2004.
